Our Electrical Services In Taos, NM
Electrical Services
Electrical installations require precision, not trial and error. A system either functions safely over time or it does not.Loose connections, overloaded circuits, and improper installations can remain unnoticed until a safety issue develops.Working with a licensed electrician helps ensure that repairs and upgrades meet current requirements and continue working under real conditions.{Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} handle electrical repair work, system upgrades, and new electrical installations for residential and commercial buildings across Taos, NM.Each service is based on testing and inspection, not estimation. We check the system, validate the fault, and walk you through the solution first.
Electrical Repairs
Many electrical problems start small. A light blinks as loads increase. A breaker trips more often than it used to. An outlet feels loose when devices are connected. These signs usually indicate problems with wiring, terminations, or circuit load that should be addressed early. Our electricians trace problems back to their source. We check service panels, run circuit tests, verify grounding, and inspect outlets and switches. Once the issue has been confirmed, we describe the fault and the corrective work. Pricing is discussed before work begins, so there are no surprises once the job is underway. We fix loose outlets, replace worn switches, repair damaged conductors, and resolve breaker faults. When repairs reveal that a system no longer supports the electrical demand of the property, we discuss upgrade options during the same visit. Fixing the symptom without addressing the cause only leads to repeat problems. Our goal is dependable operation, not temporary relief.
Home Rewiring and Electrical Upgrades
Many homes in Taos, NM were built when electrical demand was far lower than it is today. Over time, insulation degrades, connections loosen, and outdated wiring types become safety concerns. Appliances, HVAC systems, and modern electronics place greater demands on circuits that were not built to handle current consumption. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} handle both targeted and complete rewiring work to correct these issues. We replace damaged or obsolete wiring, add circuits where needed, and confirm that the system can safely support current usage. When required, we handle permits and panel upgrades as part of the project.Rewiring is scheduled in structured phases. We label and plan circuits, safeguard walls and flooring, and complete work step by step to reduce impact. Clean work areas and clear communication remain priorities throughout the project.Once complete, the electrical system complies with modern code requirements and handles present-day electrical demand reliably.
Emergency Electrician Services
Some electrical issues cannot wait. Power loss, smoke smells, arcing receptacles, or breakers that will not reset signal potentially dangerous faults. These situations are hazards rather than minor disruptions. Our emergency electricians are available around the clock across Taos, NM. We respond to secure unsafe conditions, disconnect compromised circuits, and identify the source of the fault. Stabilizing the electrical system is the first priority. Once the danger has been controlled, we explain what failed and outline any necessary follow-up work. Emergency service is focused on safe correction, not temporary fixes. We focus on correcting the problem properly so it does not return once power is restored.
Commercial Electrical Services
Business electrical systems maintain daily functions, safety, and productivity. Interruptions can affect more than convenience. They can disrupt business. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} provide service to offices, shops, and light commercial sites in Taos, NM. We provide repairs, upgrades, lighting installations, and circuit additions tailored to commercial environments. Work is scheduled to reduce downtime and coordinated with property managers when needed.
Lighting Installation and Repair
Lighting affects how spaces function, not just how they appear. Improper lighting installation can result in arcing, overheating, or recurring problems. Proper fixture selection and circuit sizing matter as much as the fixture itself. We handle installation and repair of indoor lighting, including recessed lighting, pendants, vanity fixtures, and under-cabinet systems. Exterior lighting services include porch fixtures, pathway lighting, security lighting, and weather-rated floodlights. All installations are done to meet code standards and ensure proper circuit load. Residential and commercial lighting can be repaired or upgraded by our team. We evaluate existing wiring, replace failing components, and ensure the system operates reliably after installation.
EV Charger Installation
Electric vehicle charging systems require more than a standard outlet. Proper assessment of load, service panel, and protection devices is required prior to installation. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} install Level 2 EV charging systems, including hardwired chargers and approved outlet configurations. We assess the electrical panel, upgrade capacity when needed, and install dedicated circuits that meet current electrical standards. Each charger installation is tested for proper operation before the job is completed. The goal is reliable charging without overloading the electrical system or creating future issues.
Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Installation
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors provide protection only when installed and interconnected correctly. Wrongly installed or poorly connected detectors can fail to cover the entire property. We set up, replace, and link detectors so the entire property is alerted during an alarm. We follow current codes and safety standards for proper placement and wiring. Each system is tested to confirm proper operation before completion.
Why Choose Matt and Willow Electricians in Taos, NM
Licensed and Insured
Electrical work requires precision and accountability. Our electricians are licensed, bonded, and insured in Taos, NM. All work is performed in accordance with modern electrical regulations, not old methods or unverified techniques. Unlicensed work often leads to inspection failures, insurance complications, and hidden hazards. We document our work and leave systems in a condition that can be inspected and serviced with confidence.
We Stand Behind the Work We Install
Power restoration alone does not complete the service. A system should operate safely under real conditions, not just during testing. If something related to our work does not perform as expected, we address it. This approach has built long-term relationships and consistent referrals. We focus on durable results, not quick fixes.
Clear Pricing and Communication
We review the project details, method, and cost before any work starts. There are no hidden fees or unexpected modifications. Clear communication keeps projects on track and avoids misunderstandings.
Responsive Service
Electrical problems rarely follow a convenient schedule. When issues arise, quick response matters. We come equipped, evaluate the situation thoroughly, and resolve issues correctly. The goal is stable system performance and fewer recurring faults.
