Our Electrical Services In Portland, OR
Electrical Services
Electrical installations require precision, not trial and error. A system either remains safe under load or develops problems.Loose connections, overloaded circuits, and improper installations can go undetected until a safety issue develops.Working with a licensed electrician helps ensure that all work complies with current electrical standards and continue working under real conditions.{Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} handle electrical repairs, upgrades, and new installations for homes and commercial properties across Portland, OR.Each service begins with proper evaluation, not guesswork. We check the system, validate the fault, and walk you through the solution first.
Electrical Repairs
Many electrical problems start small. A light flickers when an appliance turns on. A breaker begins to trip without warning. An outlet feels loose when devices are connected. These signs usually indicate problems with wiring, terminations, or circuit load that should be addressed early. Our electricians identify the root cause. We check service panels, run circuit tests, verify grounding, and inspect outlets and switches. Once the issue is identified, we describe the fault and the corrective work. Pricing is discussed before work begins, so there are no surprises once the job is underway. We repair faulty outlets, worn switches, damaged wiring, and breaker issues. When repairs reveal that a system no longer supports the electrical demand of the property, we discuss upgrade options during the same visit. Treating surface issues without correcting the source results in recurring faults. Our goal is long-term reliability, not short-term fixes.
Home Rewiring and Electrical Upgrades
Older homes in Portland, OR were designed for much lower electrical usage. Over time, wire insulation breaks down, terminations weaken, and older wiring methods turn into hazards. Appliances, HVAC systems, and modern electronics place greater demands on circuits that were not built to handle current consumption. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} perform partial and full rewiring projects to correct these issues. We remove deteriorated conductors and install new wiring, add circuits where needed, and verify the system handles present electrical loads safely. When required, we manage permitting and service panel improvements within the same scope.Rewiring is planned carefully. We label and plan circuits, safeguard walls and flooring, and complete work step by step to reduce impact. We maintain tidy workspaces and provide regular updates from start to finish.Once complete, the electrical system complies with modern code requirements and supports the way the home is used today.
Emergency Electrician Services
There are electrical faults that demand urgent attention. Power loss, burning odors, sparking outlets, or breakers that will not reset indicate conditions that need immediate attention. These situations are safety concerns, not inconveniences. Our emergency electricians are on duty 24/7 across Portland, OR. We respond to secure unsafe conditions, disconnect compromised circuits, and determine the cause of the failure. Restoring safe operation comes first. Once the immediate risk is addressed, we explain what failed and outline any necessary follow-up work. Emergency service is focused on safe correction, not temporary fixes. We focus on correcting the problem properly so it does not return once power is restored.
Commercial Electrical Services
Business electrical systems maintain daily functions, safety, and productivity. Interruptions can impact more than just comfort. They can interfere with workflow. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} provide service to offices, shops, and light commercial sites in Portland, OR. We provide repairs, upgrades, lighting installations, and circuit additions tailored to commercial environments. Work is arranged to limit interruptions and communicated with property managers as necessary.
Lighting Installation and Repair
The right lighting influences function as much as aesthetics. Improper lighting installation can result in arcing, overheating, or recurring problems. Proper fixture selection and circuit sizing matter as much as the fixture itself. We install and repair interior lighting, including recessed lights, pendant lights, bathroom vanities, and cabinet-mounted fixtures. Exterior lighting services include porch fixtures, pathway lighting, security lighting, and weather-rated floodlights. All installations are completed to code and matched to the capacity of the circuit. Residential and commercial lighting can be repaired or upgraded by our team. We check wiring, update damaged elements, and guarantee reliable performance.
EV Charger Installation
Charging an electric vehicle safely involves more than a basic receptacle. Proper assessment of load, service panel, and protection devices is required prior to installation. {Matt and Willow Electricians|Matt & Willow Electricians|The team at Matt and Willow Electricians} set up Level 2 EV chargers using properly wired and approved outlets. We check panel capacity, upgrade as necessary, and wire dedicated circuits to meet code. Each charger installation is tested for proper operation before the job is completed. The goal is dependable charging that avoids overloads or future electrical problems.
Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Installation
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors provide protection only when installed and interconnected correctly. Wrongly installed or poorly connected detectors can fail to cover the entire property. We install, replace, and interconnect detectors so alarms activate throughout the property when triggered. Placement and wiring follow current safety guidelines and building standards. Each system is checked and tested to ensure it works properly before the job is completed.
